You’ll learn what it’s like to serve a brand with a passionate following of die hard fans from all over the planet, and to be involved with some of the most talented artists around.

Daily tasks will include serving the Managing Editor of the Kidrobot blog, The KRonikle, in creating new content for its readers and interacting with Kidrobot’s social networking circles. You’ll be exposed to decision making around content development, product promotion, graphic design, writing, search engine optimization and the emerging technologies and tools of  bloggers and social networkers. The Marketing Intern will also help with other “off-line” promotions.

The position pays $7.25/hour for 2 days per week, preferably Tuesday and Thursday.

Candidates for this position:

• Posses excellent written communication skills with a knack for articulating marketing messages in a soft, “non-salesy” manner.
• Are organized and deadline oriented. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
• Will pay close attention to details, especially while doing repetitive tasks.
• Know the web. Must know the ins and outs of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.

• Knowledge of street culture, art toys, modern art, graphic design all a plus.
• Wordpress blogging experience would come in very handy.

Responsibilities include:
Daily social networking tasks:

• Accepting friend requests on MySpace, following followers on Twitter.
• Additional 1-off communication with members of our communities.
• Reporting on themes, trends and any problems or issues within our communities.
• Cultivate followings on additional social networking sites by participating in those communities.

Daily KRonikle content production:

• Creating first drafts of stories for the KRonikle to submit to the editor. This entails gathering and sizing photos, gathering and checking facts, identifying the opportunity for and building all analytics-tagged links.
• Maintaining and regularly refreshing ad space.
• Trolling the web for interesting content which may be of interest to our readers.

Administrative:

• Sending prizes to contest winners and other recipients for the marketing department.
• Various errands.

Required proficiency in:
Microsoft Word and Excel, web browsers
Bonus points for knowledge of:
WordPress 2.8+, Adobe Photoshop, HTML
